To sign off for the night, here is a photo of my second favorite part of my week (after Facetiming with my Mom every Saturday)! Here in this photo is myself and fellow scholar Davis '20, watching the Best Star Wars movie, Episode II Attack of the Clones. Davis and I have grown very close since I came down here to Chapel Hill, and a large part of it is from our consensual love of Star Wars. It is not always easy to be nearly 3000 driving miles and a 24 nautical mile ferry ride away from home. However, being able to watch something that I grew up loving, beside someone from the opposite side of the continent who also loved growing up, makes me feel right at home here at Carolina. Thanks so much for allowing me to show a little of what I do with my time here at Carolina, and I hope you all enjoyed following me around today!  Photo by Ryan Totz 2020 #TakeoverTuesday

For many first-year scholars, we may not have met until recently because I had the amazing opportunity to study abroad last semester in Freiburg, Germany directly following my incredible Public Service summer in Thailand. Here is a picture of one of my favorite places, the Swiss alps, that I traveled to on my world travels in 2017. Photo by Ryan Totz 2020 #TakeoverTuesday

Heading back for dinner, happened to sit beside two good buddies of mine, Drew (right) and Clark (left)! Drew ‘19 and I will be spending the summer in Dallas as research interns for Baylor Scott & White Health. Very excited to gain real-world medical exposure, connect with MC alum in the field, and share the experience with one of my closest friends at UNC. Photo by Ryan Totz 2020 #TakeoverTuesday

I am currently a member of the UNC Men’s Ice Hockey team which competes in Division II of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA). This past weekend, we had our Spring Training Camp. Having played hockey for 11 years growing up, it is great to be able to continue a sport I love while in college and meet new teammates. Here are a few photos from a game at PNC earlier in the year, and our training camp this past weekend. If you aren't aware, our games against NC State (and sometimes Duke) are played at the PNC arena (where the NHL Carolina Hurricanes play) and these games often attract up to 8000 fans. We have 5 games at PNC arena next season and I would love to see some of y’all come out and support the team! Photo by Ryan Totz 2020 #TakeoverTuesday

After Lunch, had a meeting with current Campus Civitan president, Isha, who is passing over the reigns to myself for next year. Campus Civitan is a club which focuses on helping people with developmental disabilities through a variety of service work including local projects like the Special Olympics and supporting the Civitan International Research Center at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). If this club sounds like something you might be interested in please let me know or come out the fall fest next year! Photo by Ryan Totz 2020 #TakeoverTuesday

Music 291, Music & Politics is my first class of the day! Definitely the most unique class I take. One of the aspects I love the most about UNC is the diversity of my workload. Being able to be pre-med but major in non-science classes (Econ and Poli Sci) is such a fantastic opportunity to increase my depth of learning and challenge myself academically. On top of this, General Education requirements allow me to go outside my comfort zone and take courses I would not normally consider - such as this very interesting music class! Here is a photo of my two friends and final project partners, Corey and Ally, as we help plan a performance that our class puts on at the end of the semester! Photo by Ryan Totz 2020 #TakeoverTuesday
